Scope

This Privacy Policy is meant to cover the ShoddyTechGarage app family as a whole, not just one product. If a future app needs materially different privacy handling, that difference should be called out clearly in that app's listing, settings, or linked policy text.

Information Collection and Use

By default, the apps are designed to keep app data on the user's device. Certain information may be stored locally so features can work properly, including:

• App preferences, settings, and configurations.
• Vehicle telemetry and diagnostic information when connected to a compatible interface.
• Maintenance records or vehicle profile information entered by the user.
• Audio tuning presets, saved Garage entries, and Builder Mode or Everyday Listening configurations entered by the user.
• Selected app preferences, launcher choices, and interface customizations.
• Optional locally installed model files for offline AI or speech features.

Local Device Data

The applications may display or process information from local sources such as:

• Vehicle telemetry.
• Device system or hardware capability information.
• Bluetooth or USB connection status.
• Saved vehicle setup, build details, and app-specific local profiles.
• Media or navigation status shown through supported Android system integrations.
• User interface preferences.

This information is intended to remain on the device unless the user chooses to enable a feature that relies on a third-party service.

Optional Third-Party Services

The applications may allow optional integration with third-party services such as navigation apps, music apps, Android speech services, Google Play delivery services, or AI assistants. These services operate under their own privacy policies, and ShoddyTechGarage does not control those third-party services.

• ShoddyDrive may offer optional AI integrations such as OpenAI or Google Gemini if the user chooses to enable them and provides their own API key.
• If a user enables one of those cloud AI features, prompts and related in-app context needed to answer the request may be transmitted directly from the device to that provider.
• If a user uses Android system speech recognition, speech processing may be handled by the device's speech service provider under that provider's own terms.
• If a user chooses to share or export notes or other content, that information is sent only to the app or service selected by the user.
• ShoddyScan and other future ShoddyTechGarage apps may use Google Play or similar delivery mechanisms to install optional local AI model files or app assets on the device.

Permissions

The apps may request permissions only for features that need them, such as:

• Microphone access for voice features.
• Bluetooth or Nearby Devices access for supported wireless vehicle hardware.
• USB access for supported wired vehicle hardware.
• Notification access in ShoddyDrive for supported media and navigation integrations.
• Storage or file-related access only where needed for supported import, export, model delivery, or diagnostic workflows.

If you do not grant a permission, the related feature may not function.

Security

App settings, preferences, and related local data are stored on the device. Where supported, sensitive locally stored items such as optional API keys may be protected using Android security features.

Because ShoddyTechGarage does not run its own remote data collection service for normal app use, there is no developer-operated cloud storage of personal information unless clearly stated otherwise for an optional third-party feature chosen by the user.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the updated policy text with a revised "Last updated" date.
